A Winter's Rest Circle: In search of our Heartfelt desires, our Sankalpa.

Winter is a time to slow down, a time to journey inwards and explore;
a time to level up on our rest so we may continue to cope with life’s challenges and serve.
Traditionally, Winter is also a time to set resolutions for the upcoming year. That said, only 8% of people who set New Year's resolutions succeed. This is because most of these resolutions originate from the misguided desires of the ego and our conditioning that we may not be good enough and that we will acquire happiness by getting things we want.

Yoga philosophy believes we are already Whole, we already have that which we seek, Tat Tvan Asi.

A Sankalpa is a heartfelt desire, a vow that supports our highest truth. It is an affirmation and commitment traditionally made at the beginning and end of the Yoga Nidra Meditation practice, with the goal of planting that heartfelt seed on our sub/unconscious so that it may grow and transform one's life physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, enabling us to realize our life's purpose. .

Let’s hold space for one another virtually during these challenging times when we need connection the most.
Through the practice of Restorative Yoga, Pranayama, breathing techniques and Yoga Nidra Meditation we shall cultivate rest, restoration, creativity, and so much more… also making us receptive to listening to our higher self and our heartfelt desires. Let's journal, observe and plan establishing habits that facilitate planning and organization into our lives.

Circle schedule:
We shall gather via Zoom for five Sundays at 2pm for practice, there shall be two self study assignments to be completed on your own and one virtual check in on a weekday evening.

Chakra Intro
Winter 2020

Let’s gather and explore the seven main energetic centers, the Chakras.

In this introduction, Eduvigis will provide an overview of how the Chakras are connected with our physical, emotional functioning and our understanding of who we are.
Including the elements, colors, seed mantra for each Chakra.
(Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and Crown).

Followed by a brief seated meditation on each Chakra followed by brief journaling.
Eduvigis will discuss the essential oils that stimulate each Chakra. more journaling and ending with a Yoga Nidra Meditation navigating up all seven Chakras for a balancing afternoon.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda (ayur or ayus means “life force” and veda means “science” or “knowledge”) translates to science or knowledge of life.
It is a 5000 year old holistic and comprehensive medical system meant to help you achieve balance in your mind, body and spirit, while promoting harmony in your inner and outer worlds.


In this workshop, you'll first be guided through a gentle practice where you will learn how to identify any imbalances and how to approach your practice to bring yourself back into balance.
The practice will end with a yoga nidra practice to help reduce excess Kapha during this Kapha season. We will then discuss the foundational elements of Ayurveda where you will:

Learn about the three doshas: vata, pitta and Kapha and how they form our individual constitution
Identify your own constitution and self care techniques from movement to food to keep yourself in balance
Learn how to identify if there is any excess of one dosha and how to reduce it to bring your health back into balance
Learn how to prevent an imbalance to reduce excess Kapha during the Kapha season (late winter into early spring)

It is a time to cleanse the body and mind from the inside out, not just decluttering our physical surroundings.

Let’s gather to awaken from Winter’s slumber, with a detoxifying Yoga sequence, followed by restorative poses that help us to let go and open us into new beginnings; ending with a Yoga Nidra meditation that navigates through our energetic body, our Chakras for a complete cleanse of body, mind, heart.
